Photo Frame

The Parametric Photo Frame Generator allows you to create fully customizable 3D printable photo frames and wall compositions. Adjust the size, profile, patterns, and textures, import your own SVG designs, and add custom text both inside and outside the frame. Create everything from classic and traditional frames to modern, eye-catching designs full of personality.

Thanks to the connecting clips, you can join multiple frames together to create unique decorative wall compositions. The generator includes a parametric tabletop stand and a wall hanger, both automatically sized to match your frame, as well as optional front and back covers to protect your photo.

The design is optimized for multicolor printing using color changes by layer height, reducing filament purges, optimizing material usage, and delivering excellent results with minimal supports. Even if you don't have a multicolor 3D printer, you can still create multicolor designs by manually changing the filament at different layer heights during the print.

It is an ideal product for creating personalized gifts, home décor, and especially for Etsy sellers, allowing them to offer fully customized, high-value photo frames for any occasion.

The model is printed in three separate batches:

Frame

Accessories (parametric stands, wall hangers, and connecting clips)

Optional front and back covers

The maximum frame size is limited by your printer's build plate. The frame is printed as a single solid piece.

Supports are required when printing the frame. Configure your slicer to generate supports only inside the frame, avoiding the rear guide channels where they are not needed.

For the best results, we recommend:

Use 3 wall loops (perimeters) for maximum strength and opacity, especially when printing with light-colored filaments.

Print with a 0.20 mm layer height. For frames with curved profiles, enable Variable Layer Height to achieve smoother surfaces while keeping print times low.

If your frame includes fine decorative patterns or thin lines, enable the Arachne Wall Generator in your slicer for improved detail and cleaner walls.

Keep the outer wall speed constant to avoid visible color or gloss variations.

Let the print cool completely before removing it from the build plate.

Standard PLA is ideal for indoor use.
