Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-07 · Last updated 2026-09-09
Flexi Toys user-content exception (effective September 29, 2026)
Notwithstanding any other clause in these terms, MadiMaker does not claim ownership of an image you upload to Flexi Toys or of the resulting Flexi Toy design and export. Flexi Toys exports are not subject to MadiMaker's plan-based personal-use, commercial-print, or digital-file redistribution restrictions. You may use, print, modify, share, and sell your Flexi Toys results, subject to any rights held by others in the source image or content.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload the source content and make your intended use of the result. Using Flexi Toys does not transfer a third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights to you. You grant MadiMaker only the permissions needed to process, store, display privately, and rebuild your Flexi Toys projects and download history as part of the service. MadiMaker does not apply a Creative Commons licence to your content.
Welcome
Madimaker (MadiStudios) operates this website, software, generators, and related services (the “Platform”). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Platform.
By creating an account or using Madimaker, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Accounts & Subscription Tiers
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
A free registered account is required to use the Platform. Users are responsible for their account and must not share it, create false accounts, or bypass plan limits.
Madimaker offers different subscription tiers, including Free, Discover, Advance, Commercial, and Digital Seller.
The features, export limits, applicable fees, and other conditions of each plan are described on the Platform and may change from time to time.
The subscription tier determines the rights and permissions available to the User.
Free, Discover, and Advance do not grant commercial rights.
Commercial grants the User the right to manufacture and sell Physical Products made from qualifying Digital Files exported through the Platform while the Commercial Subscription is active. It does not grant Digital File resale rights.
Digital Seller includes the separate Printed Product Commercial and Digital File Resale capabilities. Digital File Resale applies only to an eligible STL or 3MF export for which the User expressly selects Digital resale and Madimaker issues a valid Digital Resale License Certificate.
Personal use is the default export scope. A Personal or Digital resale export consumes the normal download allowance. Creating, editing, saving, duplicating, or downloading a design does not itself create Digital File resale rights.
Commercial permissions are limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and subject to the User's continuing eligibility, the identified design revision, source-rights checks, any applicable Community reuse grant, and these Terms.
2. Digital Files & Generated Designs
“Digital Files” means files generated or provided through the Platform, including STL, 3MF, and other supported digital formats.
“Generated Design” means a customized design created using Madimaker's generation technology.
As between the User and Madimaker, the User retains ownership of independently protectable material that the User created and supplied, subject to third-party rights and applicable law.
Madimaker retains all intellectual property rights in its Platform, software, generators, models, templates, underlying assets, algorithms, technology, branding, and systems. A Digital Resale License makes the named User a licensed digital distributor for the identified design revision. It does not make the User the owner, copyright holder, author, or exclusive licensee of Madimaker or third-party material, and no export transfers such ownership or copyright.
Creating, previewing, or configuring a design does not by itself grant commercial rights.
Commercial rights are granted only according to the User's active subscription tier and these Terms.
3. Commercial License
3.1 Commercial Subscription
An active Commercial Subscription grants the User the right to manufacture and sell Physical Products made from qualifying Digital Files exported through Madimaker while the Commercial Subscription is active.
The Commercial Subscription does not grant the right to sell, distribute, or otherwise commercially exploit Digital Files.
The User may:
- Manufacture Physical Products from qualifying Digital Files.
- Sell those Physical Products through lawful sales channels.
- Modify, adapt, repair, convert, or customize qualifying Digital Files for manufacturing Physical Products.
The User may not commercially manufacture or sell Physical Products after the Commercial Subscription and applicable grace period have ended.
3.2 Digital Seller Subscription
An active Digital Seller Subscription allows the named subscriber to request a Digital Resale License for an otherwise eligible STL or 3MF export.
For each approved Digital resale export, Madimaker grants the named subscriber a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable authorization, while the Certificate's selling permission remains active, to market and distribute copies of the exact design revision identified by that Certificate. Selling permission includes any expressly applicable 10-day grace period described in Section 8.
The licensed distributor must:
- Supply every buyer with the bundled Madimaker End-Buyer Personal-Use License and verification information.
- Keep the License ID or public verification URL with the Digital File and include it in the listing or accompanying sales information where the marketplace permits it.
- Preserve required attribution and source-license notices.
- Avoid claiming authorship, ownership, copyright ownership, exclusivity, or authority to transfer the Certificate.
- Stop new sales and delist the Digital File when the Certificate becomes inactive for new sales or is revoked.
The licensed distributor may not transfer, assign, sell, or sublicense the Certificate; draft or select buyer terms that grant broader rights; grant commercial rights to a buyer; or represent that Madimaker verifies or counts third-party marketplace sales.
A buyer's separate Madimaker subscription does not attach to a purchased Digital File. A buyer who wants Madimaker commercial rights must independently create and export an eligible design through the buyer's own account and obtain the applicable permission for that independent export.
4. End-Buyer Personal-Use License & No Sublicensing
A buyer of a Digital File sold under a valid Madimaker Digital Resale License receives only a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable right to retain the purchased file and make Physical Products for the buyer's own personal use.
The buyer may not:
- Resell, share, upload, exchange, publish, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute the Digital File.
- Make the Digital File available for download by another person.
- Sell, distribute, or otherwise use Physical Products made from the Digital File commercially.
- Create or exploit commercial derivatives.
- Remove the included license or verification documents.
- Represent themselves as the licensed distributor, owner, copyright holder, or author of protected Madimaker or third-party material.
The Digital Seller may provide the buyer only with the bundled Madimaker End-Buyer Personal-Use License. No sublicensing or transfer of Madimaker commercial rights is permitted.
5. Attribution, Buyer License & Verification
Every Digital File copy sold or distributed by a licensed Digital Seller must include the Madimaker End-Buyer Personal-Use License, required attribution and source notices, and the verification information supplied in the licensed export bundle.
The listing or accompanying sales information must include, in a reasonably visible manner where the marketplace permits it:
Created with Madimaker
and the applicable random public License ID or Madimaker verification URL.
The licensed distributor may register optional marketplace listing or storefront URLs with Madimaker. Madimaker does not represent that it monitors or counts sales made on third-party marketplaces.
The buyer license, attribution, source notices, and verification information may not be removed, intentionally obscured, or replaced with broader terms.
6. Modifications & Community Presets
Modifying, adapting, repairing, converting, remixing, or otherwise altering a Digital File does not erase its source, ownership, attribution, licence obligations, or Community provenance.
When a creator explicitly accepts the current Community reuse grant for their account, that grant applies to every preset the creator currently shares and every preset they share in the future while the grant remains current. Platform Users may access, apply, save, reproduce, modify, adapt, combine, and reshare a covered preset and designs derived from it. Subject to the receiving User's applicable Madimaker plan, export rules, source rights, and compliance with law, the grant also permits manufacturing and selling physical prints and exporting, distributing, and selling eligible digital files derived from the covered shared preset.
Community provenance remains attached for attribution, integrity, abuse prevention, audit, and takedown handling. Provenance or lineage alone does not restrict commercial eligibility after a valid Community reuse grant has been recorded.
Community presets shared before this grant took effect remain governed by their earlier personal-use terms until their creator explicitly accepts the current account-level grant once. That acceptance upgrades every eligible preset the creator currently shares without requiring preset-by-preset approval and automatically covers future shares. Exact uploaded assets remain subject to their own immutable-revision rights confirmation. Previously saved copies are not reclassified merely by publication of these Terms. When a receiving User later starts an eligible commercial action, Madimaker may verify the exact original Community source and record the current grant on that saved copy automatically. If the original source is unavailable or does not carry the current grant, the commercial action remains blocked.
7. Export & Subscription Limits
Commercial rights arise only from qualifying exports made while the corresponding commercial subscription is active.
Users without an active subscription that permits commercial use cannot obtain commercial rights through the Platform.
Plan limits may restrict the number of exports or other Platform functionality.
An export does not automatically grant commercial rights. Digital File Resale requires an explicit Digital resale selection, a current eligible entitlement, accepted agreement versions, completed business identity, an eligible model, a valid Community reuse grant where applicable, and approved rights for every referenced source.
Digital File Resale is permitted only when each source is Madimaker-owned or admin-approved; compatibly licensed with required attribution supplied; or a User upload covered by a recorded commercial digital-distribution attestation tied to its immutable hash. Unknown, restricted, incompatible, or unattested sources may remain available for Personal export but cannot receive a Digital Resale Certificate.
8. Cancellation, Expiration & Certificate Status
Cancellation does not end a paid subscription before the end of its already-paid subscription period.
Following the actual expiration of a Commercial or Digital Seller Subscription, the applicable commercial selling permission continues for a 10-day grace period. For a Digital Seller, valid Digital Resale Certificates remain active for new sales during that same grace period unless they are revoked or superseded.
If the appropriate subscription has not been restored when the 10-day grace period ends, each affected Digital Resale Certificate becomes inactive_for_new_sales. The licensed distributor must then stop new Digital File sales and delist the affected files. Existing lawful buyers keep the personal-use rights granted with their purchase.
Restoring the appropriate subscription during the grace period prevents the Certificate from becoming inactive. Later resubscription may reactivate an inactive_for_new_sales Certificate unless it was revoked or superseded. Madimaker may mark a Certificate revoked or superseded for breach, fraud, erroneous issuance, a credible rights complaint, a source-license conflict, or another legally permitted enforcement reason. Signature validity and current selling permission are separate verification results.
These rules govern Certificates issued under the current Digital File Resale program. They do not retroactively remove or narrow rights already granted to a file under the Terms in force when that earlier export occurred.
Printed Product Commercial permission remains separate from Digital File Resale permission, but both permissions receive the expressly stated 10-day grace period after the applicable paid subscription expires.
9. User Content & Community Sharing
Users may upload, create, store, or submit designs, SVG files, images, text, presets, configurations, fonts, meshes, textures, and other materials (“User Content”).
Users retain ownership of independently protectable User Content they create, subject to third-party rights and applicable law. Madimaker does not acquire ownership through the licences in this Section.
By submitting User Content to the Platform, the User grants Madimaker a non-exclusive, worldwide, limited licence to host, store, reproduce, process, technically adapt, and display that User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the Platform.
When a User explicitly accepts the current Community reuse grant for their account, the grant applies to every preset the User currently shares and every preset the User shares in the future while the grant remains current. The User grants Madimaker and other Platform Users a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to access, apply, save, reproduce, modify, adapt, combine, and reshare a covered preset and designs derived from it. Subject to the receiving User's applicable Madimaker plan, export rules, source rights, and compliance with law, this licence also permits the receiving User to manufacture and sell physical prints and to export, distribute, and sell eligible digital files derived from the covered shared preset.
The sharing User authorizes Madimaker to host, store, reproduce, display, render, technically adapt, index, distribute, and sublicense the shared preset to Platform Users to provide the Community and related Platform services. The sharing User retains ownership of independently protectable contributions and receives no royalty or approval right over uses permitted by this Community licence.
The sharing User represents that they own or control all rights needed to make this grant, including the right to permit commercial physical and digital reuse of any uploaded or selected artwork, logos, fonts, images, meshes, textures, and other sources included in the preset. Required attribution, notices, and compatible source-licence terms continue to apply. A Community grant cannot expand rights the sharing User does not possess.
Unsharing removes the preset from future Community discovery and new applications. It does not revoke the Community licence for copies lawfully saved while the preset was shared, or derivatives already created from those copies. Madimaker may nevertheless disable discovery or use, remove content, preserve minimum audit facts, and suspend or revoke affected export certificates when responding to a credible rights complaint, fraud, unlawful content, or a source-licence conflict.
Community provenance may remain attached to a saved preset, product revision, export, certificate, or audit event for attribution, integrity, abuse prevention, and takedown handling. Provenance and lineage alone do not restrict commercial eligibility after a valid grant has been recorded.
10. User Responsibility & Acceptable Use
Users are responsible for ensuring that designs they create, sell, distribute, or manufacture comply with applicable laws and do not infringe third-party copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other rights.
Users may not:
- Share or transfer their Madimaker account.
- Circumvent technical or subscription limits.
- Remove required attribution or license information.
- Reverse engineer or reproduce Madimaker's technology.
- Use Madimaker or its outputs to develop competing automated generation services.
- Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
- Grant rights to Digital Files that exceed or conflict with the rights granted under these Terms.
- Allow another person to use their subscription or commercial license.
- Commercially manufacture or sell Physical Products without an active Madimaker commercial license.
- Sell Digital Files without an active Digital Seller Subscription.
- Sublicense or transfer any commercial rights granted by Madimaker.
Madimaker may suspend or terminate accounts for violations and may take other lawful enforcement measures.
11. Marketplace Licensing
When a Digital Seller sells a Digital File through a marketplace that requires the User to select from predefined licenses, the User must select the most restrictive license available that is compatible with these Terms.
The selected marketplace license must not grant rights exceeding those permitted by the Madimaker Digital File License.
The User may not select a license that permits the purchaser to:
- Resell or redistribute the Digital File.
- Make the Digital File publicly available for download.
- Sublicense or transfer rights to the Digital File.
- Commercially manufacture or sell Physical Products from the purchased file. A separate Madimaker subscription does not attach to that file; an independent eligible design export and permission are required.
If no available marketplace license is compatible with these Terms, the Digital File may not be sold through that marketplace.
The Digital Seller remains responsible for ensuring that the selected marketplace license is consistent with these Terms.
The Digital File listing must include:
Created with Madimaker
and the applicable random public License ID or Madimaker verification URL, together with the End-Buyer Personal-Use License supplied in the export bundle.
The fact that a marketplace provides or requires a particular standard license does not permit the User to override or circumvent these Terms.
12. Platform Availability & Changes
Madimaker may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform, including generators, tools, features, integrations, functionality, or services.
Madimaker may perform scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and may temporarily limit or suspend access to the Platform.
Madimaker does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Features, export limits, and other Platform functionality may change from time to time.
13. Account Suspension & Termination
Madimaker may suspend or terminate a User's account if the User violates these Terms, applicable laws, or other applicable Platform rules.
Madimaker may also take action where necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, circumvention of subscription limits, intellectual-property infringement, or other misuse of the Platform.
Where permitted by applicable law, Madimaker may immediately suspend access where continued use presents a significant risk to the Platform, Madimaker, other users, or third parties.
Termination or deletion of an account does not grant additional commercial rights and ends current selling permission. Madimaker may remove optional public listing links and unnecessary project data while retaining the minimum Certificate, signature, artifact-hash, revocation, source-rights, and audit facts reasonably required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, and rights enforcement.
14. License Identification, Signed Proof & Intellectual Property
Madimaker retains all rights not expressly granted under these Terms.
Each licensed design revision receives a stable random public License ID and verification URL. Each delivered STL or 3MF artifact receives a random Artifact ID and a SHA-256 hash of its exact bytes. Madimaker may also record a deterministic design hash, source-rights decisions and Community-grant provenance, the applicable agreement version, artifact assurance level, and cryptographic signatures.
Public License and Artifact IDs are not derived from User IDs and do not expose email addresses, tax identifiers, billing identifiers, or internal database keys.
The authoritative proof is the signed Certificate and artifact receipt. Madimaker does not alter STL geometry to embed proof or rely on an STL header as proof. A 3MF file may contain standard `LicenseTerms` metadata, the License ID, and verification URL, but signed sidecar documents remain authoritative because other software may rewrite 3MF metadata.
The public verification record may show only the limited information described in the Privacy Policy, including the trading name, country, identified design revision, agreement version, issue date, allowed use, current Certificate status, artifact identifiers and hashes, assurance level, and optional seller-declared listing URLs.
Removing, altering, falsifying, or bypassing required license documents, identifiers, signatures, attribution, or verification information is prohibited. No provision of these Terms transfers ownership of Madimaker intellectual property to the User.
15. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with or provide access to third-party services, including marketplaces, payment providers, cloud services, analytics services, slicers, or other external platforms.
Third-party services are operated independently of Madimaker and may be subject to their own terms, licenses, privacy policies, fees, and limitations.
Madimaker is not responsible for the availability, functionality, security, policies, or actions of third-party services.
Users are responsible for complying with the terms applicable to any third-party service they use.
16. Data Storage & Backups
Madimaker may provide storage for User Content, including saved presets, SVG files, designs, configurations, and other information.
Madimaker will take reasonable measures to maintain Platform data, but does not guarantee that User Content will always remain available or recoverable.
Users are responsible for maintaining their own backups of important files and information.
Madimaker is not responsible for loss of User Content except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Payments, Taxes & Fees
Subscription fees and other applicable charges are displayed on the Platform and may change from time to time.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal.
Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically terminate access before the end of the already-paid subscription period.
Users are responsible for any taxes, VAT, duties, or other obligations arising from their commercial activities and sales.
18. Generated Designs & Automated Generation
Madimaker uses automated and parametric generation technologies to create designs and Digital Files.
Generated results may vary depending on the User's inputs, settings, and other factors.
Madimaker does not guarantee that a Generated Design is unique, registrable, protectable by copyright, or free from similarities to existing third-party works.
Users are responsible for reviewing and validating Generated Designs before using, manufacturing, publishing, or selling them.
19. Platform, Products & Liability
The Platform and generated models are provided on an AS IS and AS AVAILABLE basis.
Users are responsible for testing, validating, manufacturing, marketing, selling, and ensuring the legal and regulatory compliance of their products.
Madimaker is not responsible for printing failures, manufacturing defects, product compliance, customer claims, marketplace disputes, lost profits, or losses arising from the User's commercial activities, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
20. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Madimaker, MadiStudios, and their respective officers, employees, and representatives from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- The User's violation of these Terms.
- The User's unlawful or unauthorized use of the Platform.
- The User's User Content.
- The User's manufacture, marketing, distribution, or sale of products.
- Claims that the User's activities or products infringe third-party rights.
- The User's violation of applicable laws or regulations.
This provision applies to the extent that the relevant claim results from the User's acts or omissions.
21. Privacy
Personal data is handled according to Madimaker's Privacy Policy and applicable GDPR and data-protection laws.
22. Copyright Infringement
Copyright or intellectual-property complaints may be sent to:
hello@madimaker.com
Madimaker may investigate and take appropriate action regarding valid intellectual-property complaints, including removing or restricting access to content where appropriate.
23. General Legal Terms
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, applicable licenses, and incorporated documents, constitute the agreement between you and Madimaker.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without Madimaker's written consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Madimaker's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
Disputes will be handled by the competent courts under applicable law; for business users, the courts of Barcelona, Spain, will have exclusive jurisdiction to the extent permitted by law.
